About the academy
We built the room we wanted to train in.
Guardians Grappling Academy is a no-gi only jiu-jitsu school on Wurzbach Road in San Antonio. We teach modern submission grappling to a room made up of first-week beginners, seasoned competitors, and everyone in between.

Jiu-jitsu is a lifelong skill, not a bootcamp. Our curriculum runs on repeating blocks — fundamentals, guard, passing, submissions, escapes — so nothing gets skipped and every student always knows where the class is going next.
Live rolling is part of every class, but new students are guided into it, not thrown in. If you're brand new, you'll drill and situationally spar for weeks before you're expected to roll full-out.
Higher belts on the mat are held to a standard: take care of your partner, control the intensity, teach when asked. That's what makes the room work.

For the art, for your coaches, and — most importantly — for the partner across from you.
Discipline
Show up on time. Trim your nails. Bow onto the mat. The small things build the big things.
